Tell Good Stories & Be Authentic (always)

If you want to create the types of videos that:

  • Grab your viewer’s attention.
  • Are interesting to watch.
  • Provides valuable information your viewer actually wants.
  • And can sell your products or services…

…then there are a few steps you’ll need to take to make that happen.

The good news is it’s not as hard as you would think and with little to no experience and limited resources these three simple tips have the power to make every video your produce better.

1.)  Don’t Try And Act Like Anyone But YOURSELF.

Now this is the part where brutal honesty comes in. So in order to really grasps this concept, it will require you to put your “ego” to the side and look at the big picture. When it comes to your product, service, marketing campaigns or anything else regarding your business…more times than not, you aren’t the “first of it’s kind”.

Here’s what I mean.

There are more than likely hundreds, (maybe even thousands), of people that provide the exact same or similar services you do. Not only that, they’re more than likely trying to grow their business using models that you’re using as well. So unless you want to scream in a sea of businesses screaming just like you are, you have to find someway to stand out from the pack. Especially if you’re brand new to your market.

The best way to stand out from the pack is to just be yourself in your videos.

The simple truth is this, if you’re not being completely genuine with your viewers…it shows and when that happens, it usually creates a huge disconnect between you and your potential customers.Remember, not everyone likes extroverted, charismatic people. Some will find this type annoying.(That also works vice versa.) The only way to create that real connection between you and your potential customers is just to be yourself.

2.) Demonstrate Your Value

Let’s face it. We live in a society that moves at a much faster pace than ever before. Sadly, the attention span of your viewers are much shorter than it has ever been.

Not only that, your viewers are constantly being bombarded with information that interests them every 5 seconds. (Especially on social media channels like Facebook.)In reality, when it comes to videos, social media channels are almost more competition than other businesses who sell similar products. So the question you have to ask yourself is…”how can I get my viewers to stop what they’re doing and watch my video to the end?”While there are probably many strategies you can use, the absolute best one is to deliver valuable content they actually need.

Here’s an example of what I mean.

Let’s say you’re a business owner who sells a digital product that teaches people how to generate 30 leads per day in only 2 hours. It’s one thing to tell someone your product produces those types of results. It’s another thing to show them how it all works. See, research shows that 67% of people on earth are visual learners. So just telling your audience what your product can do won’t be enough. You have to demonstrate your value to them. Show them you are who you say you are, and that your products or services can do what you say they can.

This one little tweak will almost instantly put you in a position of authority with your marketplace. Because while your competitors are taking the other approach, you’ll be providing value and creating goodwill with your audience.

3.) Never Underestimate The Power Of A Good Story

Believe it or not, every one of your customers can’t sit through your video even if you’re being yourself…and…providing them with some sort of value.

Even if you’re doing both of those things, but your video is boring them to tears, they more times than not won’t watch it.

Which is why in every video you’re able to, incorporate some sort of a story that:

  1. Helps your customer relate to you and your brand.
  2. Keeps your video interesting.

For example…

People like to buy from people or businesses they know, like and trust and one of the best ways to get them to know you is to who you are…and…what you’ve been through. It’s in our nature as people, we love to hear about people coming from the bottom and rising to the top.

Why?

Because it shows your audience that you’ve been through similar things they have. You’re not just some “Faceless” corporation that doesn’t care about the “little guy”. So don’t be afraid to tell your brand’s story. I think you’ll be surprised at how fast you’ll start to attract the perfect people for your products or services.
